WALTHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - A bicyclist was seriously injured Wednesday after a crash involving a gravel truck.
State Police had closed all lanes except the breakdown lane on Rt. 128 in Waltham.
According to police, all lanes south of Exit 26 were closed except the breakdown lane.
Police said a 61-year-old Carlisle man was traveling east on Trapelo Road when he was struck by a green Ford pick-up truck driven by a 42-year-old Woburn resident.
The truck attempted to make a left turn onto Pine Vale Road when it struck the bicyclist.
The bicyclist broke his leg and has head injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time.
Witnesses said the driver who hit him was shaken up.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital.
