WESTERLY, R.I. (AP) — Police are looking for a Connecticut man they say shot and killed his cousin in Rhode Island.
Louis Seignious Jr., 31, of Norwich, Connecticut, shot 28-year-old Vincent Sebastian in Westerly at about 4 p.m. Saturday, Westerly Chief Shawn Lacey said in a statement.
Sebastian, of Ledyard, Connecticut, was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound to the chest and pronounced dead at the scene about a half hour later.
Officers who interviewed witnesses learned that the suspect had driven away, possibly heading to Connecticut.
The Mashantucket Tribal Police spotted and pursued the suspect’s car, but he fled into a wooded area of Ledyard and remained at large as of Sunday morning. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The suspect and victim are cousins, and the suspect has a child with a woman who lives at the scene of the shooting, Lacey said.
