Hopkinton Police have identified the man whose body was found at a local trash recycling facility Thursday.
The man was identified as 39-year-old Shane Priester. According to police, he had no current address.
Hopkinton Police received a call from E.L. Harvey and Sons Thursday morning that workers had found a Priester’s body inside items brought to the Municipal Recycling Center, Building 6. The building is located on Wood St. in Hopkinton.
Police said workers at the facility were accounted for and that the incident is not workplace-related.
Officials believe Priester’s body was brought to the facility from an outside community curbside garbage truck. It was found as the garbage was being spread out on a conveyor belt.
The facility takes in about 300 tons of garbage each day.
A cause of death has not been determined, but police said the death is not considered suspicious.
