Police have identified the man killed during a double shooting on Hancock Street in Dorchester.
According to police, officers responded to a call for a person shot in the area on July 7.
When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, 28-year-old Brandon Smith of Dorchester, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second person shot, a woman believed to be in her fifties, was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for a non-life threatening wound to her leg.
