FRAMINGHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - Neighbors and police are on alert after a vicious attack in Framingham on Friday.

Witnesses said it all started with a car crash on Howe Street and then things escalated quickly.

Police took two men into custody Friday night after a manhunt through the neighborhood.

“We saw the two men come out hands up, the house surrounded by cops,” said witness Alexandrea White.

The two men are wanted for a crash two blocks away that sent two men to the hospital.

Witnesses said a truck slammed into a parked car and also hit two men.

According to witnesses, the driver and passenger of the truck got out and beat up one of the people who had been hit.

One of the people who was hit landed on a lawn. The other landed on a sidewalk.

Neighbors ran out to try to help.

Police set up a perimeter, searched the neighborhood with dogs and finally after a couple of hours arrested the two men.

Witnesses described the arrest at the home as ending a frightening and intense situation.

The two men were taken away in an ambulance.

The scene is still active.
