DUDLEY, MASS. (WHDH) - Police are investigating after a teen called to report she was the victim of an assault in Dudley.

On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., police received a call from a 17-year-old girl who reported she was the victim of an assault and was lost in the woods.

Police figured out where she was by using GPS.

Emergency crews were sent to a wooded area between Hayden Pond Road and Baker Pond Road in Dudley.

The victim was found approximately one mile into the woods off of Hayden Pond Road.

She was taken from the woods and was transported to Harrington Hospital at Hubbard, where she was treated and released for head and facial injuries.

An investigation showed the victim was at a camp fire in the woods when she was punched in the head several times by a female suspect.
