Police are investigating after an apparent drive-by shooting in Worcester.

On Friday just after 5 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a Perry Avenue apartment for a reported shooting.

When officers arrives they found a 34-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the face.

The victim was conscious and alert.

Officers were told the shooting happened at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Sterling Street.

The victim said he was walking alone towards the intersection when a tall person driving a small vehicle drove past and began to fire several rounds at him. The car then drove off in an unknown direction.

The victim was struck in the cheek and was transported to a local hospital in good condition.

The victim is well known to police and refused to cooperate when detectives began to question him on more specific details.

An investigation is ongoing.
