DRACUT, MASS. (WHDH) - A man arrested in connection with a deadly weekend shooting in Dracut appeared in court on Monday.
According to police, they arrested Davanni Curran, 22, of Lowell in connection with the homicide of a 31-year-old man.
The victim has now been identified as Trevor Washignton, of Dracut.
The shooting happened at a home on Methuen Street during a party.
District Attorney Marian Ryan said the party got out of control, with people showing up who the host did not know, after posts circulated on social media.
Washington was shot in the chest outside of the home, and was rushed to Lowell Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Curran has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
He was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday.
According to court paperwork, Curran has faced previous charges of possession of a loaded gun and assault on a police officer.
Curran is set to appear back in court in July.
