A suspect will face a judge on Monday following a hit-and-run crash on Monday in Lowell.
The crash happened on Thorndike Street.
According to police, the driver struck a pedestrian and then took off.
The victim, a 40-year-old homeless man flown via medical helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconnes Hospital and is currently in critical condition.
Police said the man was in the crosswalk when he was hit.
Alexandre D’Olivera, 22, left the scene and turned onto another street, where he allegedly hit a car with a woman and two children inside.
Police pulled D’Olivera over a short time later.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury, which is a felony.
