LYNNFIELD, MASS. (WHDH) - State officials are investigating after a fire they say was intentionally set in Lynnfield.
On Tuesday, Christine Hebert, 49, who was arrested at the house before the fire, started appeared in court.
She pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery, threats, and malicious destruction of property following an argument with her boyfriend.
Prosectuors said Hebert went to the house of her boyfriend, William Gaffney, and slashed the tires on his pick up truck.
When police arrived, Hebert was uncooperative. According to police, when police arrived they heard shouting, specifically Hebert threatening to kill the victim.
Gaffney appeared in Peabody court Tuesday to request a restraining order.
Now, authorities said there could be a connection with that incident and the Lynnfield fire later the same evening, which officials believe was intentionally set.
Hebert’s lawyer said his client had nothing to do with the fire.
Hebert was held without bail.
She is set to appear in court on Friday.
There are no arrests in connection with the weekend fire at this time.
