SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of Springfield’s latest homicide victim.

The Hampden district attorney’s office on Wednesday announced that 29-year-old Zachariah Ramsey was shot in the city’s Indian Orchard section early Monday morning.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired performed life-saving measures at the scene. The Springfield resident was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

He was the city’s sixth homicide victim of the year.

No arrests have been announced.

Police spokesman Ryan Walsh says the shooting was reported at around 2 a.m. and there was a large house party going on at the time.
