Cell phone video of a police officer body slamming a 12-year-old student in a San Antonio, Texas, school has forced the school district and the police department to investigate.
The incident happened on March 29 at a middle school.
Sixth grader Janissa Valdez appears to be thrown to the ground by the officer and many of her classmates could be heard in the background laughing.
A spokeswoman for the district said it happened after a verbal confrontation between two students and the officer intervened.
Valdez claimed she just wanted to go somewhere to talk through a problem with a classmate.
A few days later, the video surfaced and was posted on a local blog.
