LANCASTER, Mass. (WHDH) — Lancaster police say they got a call about a potential chase coming from Bolton, but they are still investigating what happened before the crash.

Police say a woman's car flipped and landed on top of another car.

No one was inside the other car but the driver was left hanging upside down as rescue crews rushed to the scene.

Crews used the Jaws of Life to cut the woman out of the car. She was rushed to the hospital by helicopter. Authorities say that she was conscious but one of her fingers was partially amputated.

“She’s a little upset that stuff out front, there the maple tree has been with us for a long time. It’s not too good,” said Kevin Smith, homeowner.

Authorities don't know what caused the woman's car to flip, and land on top of the other car.
