MEDFORD, MASS. (WHDH) - A State Police trooper was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after a crashing involving a motorcycle in Medford.
The crash happened on Route 28 at Wellington Circle just after 4 p.m.
The trooper was on his motorcycle at the rotary when a car struck him.
The two men in that car, John Grenier and Mike Ruth, said the trooper was going the wrong way in the one-way rotary when they struck him.
“We were in the middle lane, the cop darted out from the opposite way, from the opposite way you can see the rotary here, he darted out the wrong way,” Grenier said.
The trooper flew off his bike, landing about 15 feet away.
According to State Police a trooper was transported to Mass. General Hospital with serious leg pain.
“He’s going to be okay from everything we saw and were told, it’s unfortunate but we wish him the best,” Grenier said.
State police said the incident is still under investigation, but the two men in the car will not be charged.
