THORNTON, Colo. (WHDH) — Police are questioning a mother in Colorado after she allegedly left her young son in the car with freezing temperatures outside.

Police said they found the 2-year-old boy inside the car left in a parking lot. The mother allegedly told police that she was in a car crash and left her car there overnight but police said she keeps changing her story.

Police said the boy had spent at least seven hours in the car. He was taken to the hospital with frostbite and hypothermia.

A judge will determine what charges the boy’s mother will face.
