A Merrimack, NH, woman has been arrested after she allegedly digitally altered photos to show that her son had suffered abuse.

On Nov. 11, 2015, Taylor Tibbetts, 20, went to the Merrimack Police Department and reported that her 3-year-old son had been abused by his father.

According to police, not long after filing the report, a GoFundMe page with pictures of her son’s injuries was set up to benefit Tibbetts.

The page said that a portion of the money was going to be used to hire an attorney and attempt to get full custody of her son.

During an investigation, police with the Derry, NH, police department found the pictures used on the GoFundMe page were edited.

A warrant was issued for Tibbett’s arrest for one count of false report to a law enforcement officer.

Tibbetts turned herself in to police on Sunday, April 17, 2016.

Tibbetts was released on $2,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on May 24.
