NEWTON, Mass. (WHDH) — An armed man robbed a Gulf Gas Station on Beacon Street in Newton Tuesday night.

Police are on a manhunt for the suspect, who they say was armed with an unidentified “long gun” when he robbed the gas station around 9 p.m. There are no reports of gunshots or injuries.

Officials say the man was wearing green pants, a gray jacket, gray hat and a white bandanna.

Lieutenant Bruce Apotheker of the Newton Police Department said the suspect stole an undetermined amount of cash and fled eastbound on Beacon Street.

Around 9:45 p.m., the MBTA Green Line D-branch experienced delays from police action on the robbery.

Armed police officers from the Newton Police Department and Massachusetts State Police are searching for the suspect and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information on the robbery or suspect is urged to contact police.
