Boston police recovered a loaded gun from a home in Dorchester early Friday morning.
According to police, officers responded to a radio call for a person with a gun on Hillsboro Street around 12:15 a.m.
When police arrived, they found a victim who said they had been threatened by a man, who displayed a gun during the incident.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Erickson Daveiga of Dorchester, left the gun inside the apartment and fled the area on foot.
Officers recovered a loaded gun inside the apartment and found Daveiga a short time later on Humphreys Street.
Daveiga was placed in custody without incident, and was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
He will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
