PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island state police say they've charged a youth basketball coach from Pawtucket with possessing child pornography.

Police announced on Sunday that they arrested 41-year-old Jason Elliott, who is an organizer and coach with the Rhode Island Hawks AAU basketball program.

Authorities say a state police computer crimes unit began investigating Friday when a clinical social worker who was working with Elliott became concerned about his activities and notified state police. Officers say they searched Elliott's home on Blodgett Avenue and seized digital media containing child pornography.

Elliott was arrested Friday and is being detained on $50,000 bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

He's scheduled to appear Monday in District Court in Providence.
