NEW YORK (AP) — A 10-year-old boy was struck and killed by a school bus in Brooklyn on Tuesday, police said.

The boy was crossing a street in the East New York neighborhood at about 6:45 a.m. when he was hit by a bus as it was turning right, police said.

The child was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately released.

The bus driver remained at the scene and has not been charged with a crime, police said.
