Police believe they have found the car believed a shooting and stabbing incident in Brookline on Wednesday, but are still searching for suspects.

Police found the vehicle about two miles away from where the incident occurred, near Symphony Hall in Boston.

Three people were hospitalized after getting shot and stabbed in Brookline Wednesday and police said they are looking for two suspects.

According to Brookline Police, Lawrence, Pierce and St. Mary’s schools were put in lock down and are being assisted by police officers. Those schools were dismissed at their usual time and people are advised to avoid Harvard Street.

Brookline Police said officers got a call just before noon on Wednesday about a "disturbance" at an apartment at 198 St. Paul St. Officers then received multiple calls about two men found lying in the street at 75 Harvard St.

Police believe there was a "struggle" at the apartment and then four men fled the scene in a car. A fifth man was found shot and stabbed at the apartment. At Harvard Street, a witness told 7News that she saw a car pull up to an off-duty EMT and push two wounded men out into the street. One of the men had been shot and the other was stabbed and possibly shot. Two cellphones were also found in the street by police.

Police are looking for a white Ford Focus as part of its investigation. The car was rented in New Jersey and has New York license plates that read "GYR 3714." Police are also looking for two suspects – one in the vehicle and another who possibly fled on foot.

The three victims were taken to the hospital, where police said they are in "stable" condition. The three victims are known to police but police refused to comment if they had criminal records.
