ESSEX, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut police were searching Tuesday for a man wanted in connection with the stabbing of two people during a fight at an Essex gas station.

Troopers responded to the Bestway Sunoco station at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Two people were taken to hospitals. Their conditions have not been released.

State police released images of the suspect recorded by surveillance video at the gas station. They say he was driving a dark-colored, newer model Alfa Romeo.

Witnesses said one of the stabbing victims was pulled from a car more than a mile away near the Griswold Inn and given emergency medical care by two EMTs who happened to be there.

Police have not said what led to the fight.
