BOSTON (AP) — As Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton finalizes her vice presidential pick, one of the leading contenders is dropping no hints as he traveled through New England.
Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine attended a private midday fundraiser Friday at the University of Massachusetts Club in Boston, but didn’t speak to reporters.
Former Massachusetts Treasurer Steve Grossman, who was at the fundraiser, said Kaine told those at the event that he doesn’t know if he’s Clinton’s choice for running mate.
Kaine is scheduled to visit Rhode Island later Friday for a private fundraiser hosted by fellow Democratic U.S. Sen. Jack Reed at an undisclosed location.
Reed says Kaine is extraordinarily talented and has the intellect and temperament to do a great job as vice president.
Kaine also had a scheduled Saturday visit to Nantucket.
