BOSTON (WHDH) - A power surge Wednesday morning in Boston affected some of the MBTA systems in the city.
Eversource said a drop in voltage at a sub station near Andrew Square in South Boston led to a temporary voltage reduction across the region
Officials said that countdown clocks, station lighting, elevators and escalators were impacted.
No homes or businesses lost power.
The MBTA has apologized for the inconvenience. The issue has since been repaired.
The cause of the problem is under investigation.
