The flash of cameras lit up the home of the blues last night as Prince William and Prince Harry stepped out on Beale Street for some barbecue.
“What are the chances they would show up while we’re here. Maybe they knew we were coming,” Diana Pajewski, a royal watcher, said.
The royals are actually in the states for a weekend wedding here, at the Memphis Polo and Hunt Club where longtime friend and London nightclub owner Guy Pelly will marry hotel heiress Lizzy Wilson.
Friday afternoon, the royal brothers got a private tour of the Graceland in a city with its own royal lineage.
“The Queen of Soul, Aretha was born in our city. Then the two kings, the King of Rock, Elvis, this was his home and the king of the blues BB,” Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton said.
But this weekend seems to be all about the princes.
