There are new details about Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel.

Prosecutors in Connecticut are set to ask the state’s Supreme Court to reinstate Skakel’s conviction in the murder of Martha Moxley.

A jury convicted Skakel in 2002, and he was sentenced to 20 years to life.

A judge granted Skakel a new trial, saying that the defense attorney failed to properly represent him.

He was released from prison in 2013.

Prosecutors say Skakel killed Moxley in 1975. The two had been neighbors in Greenwich.

ICUT’s Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments Wednesday.
