Election’s over. Warm up is over. And that’s that.
OK, OK, we may hit 60 next Tuesday, but that’s a warm up of a different kind – coming out of a chilly, AM-frost-filled weekend. But before we get into the nitty gritty about that, we have some rain on the way.
First part of the day is the driest, especially if you live in Northern Mass. and Southern New Hampshire. Rain is moving in along a stalled cool front, moving from southwest to northeast. The weak low associated with this rain will intensify into a larger storm tomorrow night, tapping a pool of cold and possibly turning the rain to snow in the mountains of Northern New England. At that point, the precipitation will be ending here, so there are no worries for the white stuff this time around.
Oddly enough, despite all the rain we’ve seen recently, we still have some holdouts across New England that are officially in drought (see right). All told, a good slug of 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of rain is in the works tomorrow. A needed soaking for many.
Cold air follows on a gusty wind, but this is just a sample of what’s to come in the long range. Yes, a little taste of winter cold is likely after the 7 day period, but at this point, it isn’t accompanied by any storms.
