Cold and wind… something we’re not used to this year, but we did finally have seasonable weather on Saturday, and today, we’ll be close to seasonal levels again. This time, the winds won’t be as gusty, although a bit of a cool breeze is still out there at times. Overall it’s a nice late December day for Christmas shopping or tailgating at Gillette. Go Pats!!!!!!!! If you’re debating on weather to break out that new warm winter coat or warm hat, go for it! You won’t need it for the rest of the week ahead.
Milder air with temps in the 50s return as early as Monday on a gusty southwesterly wind and it’ll be hard pressed to shake off that milder air through the week. While the mild weather returns, so does the chance of some showers. Scattered showers are possible Tuesday with another round of showers likely late Wednesday, Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
How about a white Christmas? Yeah, right. The bare ground stays bare next week as temps go up again. Most days run in the 50s, however, the best chance of 60+ runs in here Christmas Eve. 61 is the record to shoot for on Christmas Eve, and I think we have a legit shot of cracking it as highs head into the mid 60s. That’s more typical for Jacksonville, FL this time of year versus Boston. Decorate those palm trees yet? The warmest Christmas Day on record is 65, set way, way, way back in 1889. That one looks to be safe as Christmas temps run in the 50s to near 60. The kiddos will be happy… plenty of mild air to test out that new bike Santa leaves! Christmas Day looks mainly dry too.
Have a great Sunday!
