READING, MASS. (WHDH) - Reading Police are investigating reports of a suspicious car approaching children.

According police, a driver allegedly followed and attempted to have a conversation with young girls twice this week.

Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, officers responded to reports a vehicle following a group of 12-year-old girls down Van Norden Road.

The driver of the car allegedly stopped abruptly and attempted to talk to them.

The car is described as a small white car, low to the ground, with tinted windows.

The following day, police responded to a similar incident.

Around 1:30 p.m., a 12-year-old girl was approached by a man in a small white car on Forest Street near Reading Memorial High School.

The driver allegedly asked the girl if she wanted a ride home and drove away once she said no.
