PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The Red Sox are bringing their World Series championship trophy to Providence.
The city will host a Red Sox rally at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Fans will be able to take pictures with the trophy from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The event is free.
Wally the Green Monster, the team mascot, is expected to attend. It wasn't immediately clear whether any Red Sox players will be on hand.
The Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals last month to win their third World Series in 10 seasons.
