A new report showed Amazon Prime may be shutting out some of its services to minority neighborhoods across the country, including Roxbury.
The report by Bloomberg found that every Boston neighborhood except Roxbury has access to the online shopping website’s same-day delivery service.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said the new findings are disturbing.
“That’s disturbing to me, I heard about it yesterday,” Walsh said. “If they can’t deliver to all areas of Boston the same day, just don’t deliver in Boston.”
The Bloomberg report said there is no evidence that Amazon makes decisions on where they deliver based on consumers’ race.
Mayor Walsh said he will be reaching out to Amazon Friday to discuss the report.
