Search and rescue teams located the body of a skier who went missing in an avalanche over the weekend in Nevada.

The avalanche happened just after 10 a.m. on Saturday. Two skiers had gone into an area of the mountain that was closed at the time. One of the skiers managed to make it out safely but the other was reported missing. Both skiers are men in their 60s.

The search and rescue team used electronic detection and search dogs to help find the skier. A probe line made contact with the body that was buried beneath 8 to 10 feet of snow.

Officials said they hope that the recovery of the body can bring closure to the man’s family.
