PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island nightclub has been temporarily closed after two people were injured in a shooting nearby.
The Providence board of licenses unanimously voted at an emergency hearing Monday to close Seven Nightlife for at least three days.
Police think the victims were targeted while leaving the club early Monday morning.
The men, ages 22 and 25, went to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have not released their identities.
Police sought the closure, though they are unsure if the shooting is related to the club or if the shooter came from there. Investigators found 21 spent shell casings and say it appears the shooter was aiming toward the club.
Police say the shooting may be connected to recent crimes in Providence and Attleboro.
