PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A member of a Rhode Island street gang known for flashing drugs, firearms, and gang signs on social media pleaded guilty Tuesday to drug and gun charges, federal prosecutors said.

Elton Andrade, 20, a member of the Central Falls-based Money Team gang, according to authorities, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base and possession of a stolen firearm, U.S. Attorney Aaron Weisman said in a statement.

His arrest in February 2018 stemmed from a court-authorized search of a Central Falls home where authorities seized two guns reported stolen and cocaine from Andrade’s bedroom.

Andrade, who was not present at the time of the search, was arrested the next day when he took a taxi from a Seekonk, Massachusetts motel to Central Falls.

He faces sentencing May 18.

The drug charge carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison while the gun charges carry a maximum of 10 years in prison.
