MIDDLETOWN, R. I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man out on bail for cannabis charges now faces voyeurism charges and additional cannabis charges after a forensic analysis of his phone.

Investigators found 37 videos and six live photos all in “voyeurism-style” on the phone confiscated from Christopher Toppa, 47, in his Jan. 31 arrest, Maj. Timothy Sanzi said in a statement Friday.

That arrest came after authorities seized 120 cannabis plants, over 3 pounds of cannabis and over 10 pounds of edibles from his home in Middletown . He was charged with possession, intent to deliver, delivery, and resisting arrest, and was released on bail.

Investigators later identified and interviewed six of the victims in the photos and videos, which depicted nude or partially nude women. They all told investigators that the content was captured without their consent and knowledge.

Authorities executed search and arrest warrants Friday at Toppa’s home, where they seized over 2 ounces of cannabis and took him into custody. Authorities say Toppa refused to comply with investigators and again resisted arrest during the search.

Toppa was arraigned at 2nd District Court on charges of video voyeurism, possession of cannabis and resisting arrest. He was held as a bail violator and has a status review on Feb. 11.
