PROVIDENCE, RI (WHDH) — A man was killed after his new wife’s ex-boyfriend allegedly ran him over with a car.
The entire incident was recorded on surveillance camera from a home nearby.
The SUV backed up, hitting a woman and a man on Sears Avenue in Providence, Rhode Island.
The woman suffered a broken wrist.
Neighbor Judy Colon said she saw it happen in person.
“Just a big argument,” she said. “Girl asking for help. She told me to come down so I could help her. I ran down to the street to get her, and the guy just backed up and ran over the guy three times.”
Providence have now accused the driver, Axel Morales, of murder.
According to police 21-year-old Morales in the ex-boyfriend of the victim’s wife, 39-year-old Karla Estrada.
Neighbors said there was a confrontation and Cesar Alonzo threw a bat at the car.
Police said Morales took the keys to Estrada’s car and started to drive.
Shortly thereafter, the car backed up into the couple.
“My boyfriend tried to give him CPR but he wasn’t responding by then,” Colon said. “She was just screaming. She was like, ‘Oh please, I hope he’s still alive.'”
Alonzo was 38.
Morales has been held without bail.
