Tuesday is Primary Day in Rhode Island and one candidate has gained a lot of popularity – a cat named Stump.

The 9-year-old cat lives at the All About Pets pet shop in Warwick, just a few doors down from Donald Trump’s Rhode Island headquarters. His campaign began the morning Trump’s headquarters opened up.

"I came in one morning, saw the Trump campaign headquarters had opened up. And customers were coming in making comments and they said they would vote for Stump," said All About Pets owner Denise Rachiele. "Then it just kind of went from there."

Stump’s bed in the pet shop is now decked out in red, white and blue. He also has his own campaign posters, depicting him with Trump’s hair. Word has since spread and he has become popular with customers and online.

Rachiele said Stump is all about love and believes napping in the workplace should come back.
