WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — A woman who was fatally shot during a double homicide in Rhode Island had recently sought a restraining order against the man now charged in her death.

Evelyn Burgos filed paperwork July 26 seeking a restraining order against Daniel Rodriguez. Burgos referred to Rodriguez as her ex-boyfriend. She wrote he had been physically violent and she feared for her life.

A temporary restraining order was granted. A hearing had been scheduled for Thursday.

Rodriguez is charged with killing Burgos and her adult daughter Vanessa Perez in Johnston on Sunday. He's also accused of abducting Burgos' 2-year-old son, Isaiah Perez. The boy later was found unharmed in Providence.

Rodriguez was ordered held without bail Tuesday. He hasn't entered a plea. He had no comment Monday after an initial arraignment.
