Steady light rain for the day fouled up some travel plans but nothing too serious or overwhelming as most towns picked up .50" of rain or less. Once again…rain was the player as temps were (and will be) safely above 32. We are done with the rain for the rest of the night but more is heading this way for tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s batch of rain will quickly move up the east coast and into New England by tomorrow afternoon. This storm will be a recurring theme this winter—a storm that forms in the Gulf of Mexico then heads northeast will little to no cold air to work with. The lack of cold air is less certain later in winter but a forgone conclusion with this one. Temps spend the day in the 50s tomorrow (normal high is 39) as we see rain arrive by early to mid afternoon. That rain will be locally heavy tomorrow evening & night with most towns picking up between .50-1.00" of rain. Holiday travel is likely to be a little snarly from southern New England down I-95 with all this rain.

If you love warm and somewhat humid air in December then Christmas comes a day early! Thursday will see temps start near 60 & then head for 70 by afternoon with a touch of humidity! All sorts of clouds linger but not expecting any rain. Christmas Day also sees very warm temps with highs in the 60s under a partly sunny sky. Cooler for Saturday but still above that normal high of 39—mid 40s.
