ROCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) - A Rochester man was killed after his car rolled over on the Spaulding Turnpike, according to New Hampshire state police.
Police responded to a report of a single car crash on the Spaulding Turnpike northbound in Rochester around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Preliminary investigation showed the driver, 28-year-old Corey Baker of Rochester, was traveling northbound on the Exit 12 onramp when he lost control as he merged onto the highway.
Baker’s car struck the guardrail on the left side of the roadway and rolled over. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and sustained fatal injuries.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, speed and impairment appear to be possible contributing factors in the crash.
The situation is currently under investigation, and no other cars were involved.
Traffic was diverted off of Exit 12 for a short period of time until troopers were able to open the left travel lane. The Exit 12 northbound ramp and the right travel lane of the Spaulding Turnpike were closed for approximately 2 ½ hours.
Anyone with information pertaining to the crash is asked to contact Trooper Montville, NH State Police-Troop A at (603) 223-8490.
