A Roxbury woman is accused of forcing her son to steal from a department store.
Police say 33-year-old Adelaida Jordan forced her eight-year-old son to push a shopping cart full of stolen goods out of a department store last December.
Jordan has been arraigned in a New Hampshire court and currently faces multiple shoplifting charges.
Police say they are worried about the welfare of the boy.
"To have their parent engage them in an outright crime and use them as a vessel to commit that crime – it is certainly disturbing," Captain Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department said.
Jordan’s niece was also arrested and will face charges in the incident.
