SALEM, N.H. (WHDH) - The mother of a young girl who accidentally backed over her toddler sister with a car will be facing child endangerment charges.

The 27-year-old woman from Salem, New Hampshire turned herself in Sunday.

The mother told police she let her 7-year-old daughter start her car last week. Police said the girl accidentally put the car in reverse and ran over her 2-year-old sister.

The younger girl suffered broken bones but is expected to be OK.
