BOSTON (WHDH) - Sam Adams Brewery paid tribute to David Ortiz with a limited release beer.
“Big Hapi Double IPA” was released Friday at the Boston brewery for one day only. Fans lined up early to be sure to get a bottle.
Only 541 bottles were made, the same number of home runs in Papi’s career. All proceeds from the beer will go to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund.
While Ortiz was not at the brewery, he said he is aware of the new beer and looks forward to trying it.
