ATLANTA (AP) — Officials say errors in the scoring of the exam to practice law in Georgia means that dozens of test-takers who were told they failed the test actually passed.
A news release Tuesday from the Georgia Supreme Court Office of Bar Admissions says the errors occurred in the scoring of the July 2015 and February 2016 bar exams. The release says the Board of Bar Examiners found that the error affected 90 people and it is working to notify them.
Board Chair John Sammon said the board has determined the cause of the errors and is taking steps to make sure they are not repeated.
“As attorneys ourselves, we recognize the seriousness of this mistake and deeply regret the distress we know this has caused,” Sammon said.
