We kicked the rain out early yesterday, and in it’s wake, it was a beautiful day with temperatures near 60 degrees. Today, we’re back to the averages, which means plenty of upper 40s to near 50 degree readings this afternoon. We do stay dry though, with partly to mostly sunny skies.
Did you see the snow in the Midwest? Parts of Iowa and Illinois have picked up to a foot of snow, and that snow continues this morning from Chicago to Detroit. While at first glance it looks like the storm is heading east, I do expect it to take a hard turn to the north/northeast and that means the brunt of the storm and all of the snow will stay well northwest of us (into Canada).
Although that low pressure goes well northwest of us, a trailing cold front will swing through southern New England tomorrow, providing the opportunity for a few scattered showers. Most of those showers from Boston, north and west, occur in the morning. For tomorrow afternoon, the forecast is a bit challenging, especially near the coast as the front slows down, and a wave of low pressure forms along it. With this in mind, steadier rain is possible across Southeast Mass tomorrow afternoon and night, especially across the Cape and Islands. Some of that rain may get as far west of the I-95 corridor, but northwest of there, the chance for afternoon rain is low. Temps tomorrow run 50-55.
Behind this front, cold air comes pouring in Monday and Tuesday with highs barely above 40 degrees! Lows Monday and Tuesday night fall deep into the 20s, even a few mid to upper teens in the coldest burbs! Brrrr. Monday night football tickets? Plan on kickoff temps run at 29 degrees at Gillette.
While the cold air comes in, so does dry weather, and that dry weather will prevail through the end of the week as high pressure builds in. Winds turn more southeast to south for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, allowing for milder air heading into the holiday.
Enjoy the weekend!
