Former President Bill Clinton used his popularity in Massachusetts on Super Tuesday to meet and greet at Boston area polls and give voters one last push to vote for his wife.
The former president’s visits triggered some complaints that he was too close for comfort. Secretary of State William Galvin’s office said the office received some complaints.
Galvin’s spokesman said most of the complaints were about parking issues at polls in New Bedford but the polls never closed. Voters never had trouble accessing the polls, according to Galvin’s spokesman.
Galvin’s office said Clinton went inside a polling place in West Roxbury but that did not violate any election rules.
No elections laws were broken, according to Galvin’s office.
Galvin’s office called the Clinton campaign and reminded them that campaigners must stay 150 feet away from potential voters.
