Senator Ed Markey took a stance in the battle against opioids Sunday as he joined forces with Hillary Clinton.

The democratic presidential candidate is the first to release a plan to address the drug crisis.

The plan includes $10 billion in funding to expand treatment and recovery services.

In 2014, more than 1,300 people died from opioid overdoses in Massachusetts.
