BOSTON (WHDH) - Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey held a news conference on Friday, stressing the urgency of gun control measures.

Markey was among the Senate Democrats who held a 15-hour filibuster earlier this week, demanding votes on amendments to close the so-called “terror gap” in purchasing guns.

“On Monday night, three days from now we’re going to have the first results from that filibuster, we will have a vote on whether or not we should ban someone who is on a no-fly terror list from buying weapons in the united states of America,” he said.

Senate Republicans and the National Rifle Associate traditionally bloced legislation to put strong gun control measures on the books.
