LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - Outraged drivers woke up to damaged cars in Lowell Friday.
They said their neighbor was on a crash course, hitting several cars as she made her way home.
Residents on Barclay Street in Lowell were jostled from a sound sleep overnight by what sounded like a demolition derby.
Several cars were damaged by a driver who never stopped, and the debris was everywhere.
Neighbors called police after tracking down the driver’s damaged car a few blocks away in her driveway.
According to the accident report, the driver told police she was aware she struck at least one car, but was afraid to stop because she was alone.
Frustrated residents said they find it odd the driver wasn’t charged with leaving the scene of an accident, but are also thankful no one was hurt.
