Over a dozen vehicle are underground after a large sinkhole opened up in a Mississippi restaurant parking lot Saturday night.

Rescue crews said 15 vehicles were swallowed up by the 50-foot wide sinkhole in the IHOP parking lot in Meridian, which is along the Mississippi-Alabama border.

According to witnesses, they heard several loud booms and the power was knocked out before the hole opened up.

No injuries were reported.

According to crews, they are investigating what caused the sinkhole but believe it could be weather-related, since the area received over 10 inches of rain in the last two weeks.
